Debs is here today with a very cool mixed media mirror using fabulous products from our November Sponsor Samantha K.
Here's how she created her gorgeous project:
I took a black IKEA mirror and stuck the MDF elements from Samantha K into place - I used a mix of circles, cogs and a clock face. I played around for ages working out where I wanted each piece until I was happy. Then I added some different sized beads to give more interest. I then gave it a coat of white crackle paint. Once dry I used chalk spray paints in grey, pink and yellow.
I wanted more texture than the paint alone gave me, so I used a texture medium in (Prima Limestone). Once dry, I used a dry brush and chalk finish acrylic and gently tickled all the surfaces to give a highlight of white. I also wanted to knock back the colours a little as they were too bright for my liking.
Once satisfied I added a couple of Angels from Mixed up Merchandise Printables to a couple of the circles, to give some more interest. I then finished off with a metallic wax around the edges and on the raised areas.
What I used:
Mixed Up Merchandise Printables Angels#1
Prima - Art Stones, Limestone Medium
13@rts - Chalk Spray
PaperArtsy - Fresco Finish Acrylics, Treasure Gold - White Fire
Hope I have inspired you!
