Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Mixed Up Merchandise DT inspiration project with you today, a pretty set of pastel note cards using the absolutely adorable Tinted Images #1 - Girls Printables! OMG, aren't these little sweeties just the cutest ever?!
Leslie Turner has some simple but effective card designs to share today.
I've been a card maker much, much longer than I've dabbled in mixed media, so making a set of cards with these images was the first thing that came to mind. Then, adding the stenciling with crackle paste, watercoloring and stamping just kind of happened for the backgrounds!
These were super easy. So here's what I did:
Trimmed the four images all the same dimension and layered on pastel glitter paper, leaving a 1/4" margin around the edges. Then layered on silver mirror cardstock, leaving a 1/8" margin around the edges.
Cut a sheet of water color paper in quarters. Applied opaque crackle texture paste over a leaf and flourish stencil with a spatula on each of the four pieces.
Had to check out those awesome cracks when they were all dry!
Mixed my India inks in small spray bottles to match the colors of the glitter paper - teal, green-yellow, pink and purple.
Sprayed each piece evenly with the India ink and let dry. I ended up going back to add random spritzes of ink to each piece to make them a tad darker.
Randomly stamped three different texture images around the outside edges of each piece in Pumice Stone distress ink.
Layered each piece on the silver mirror cardstock, leaving a 1/8" margin around the edges.
Then adhered the layered images, two offset to the right and two offset to the left for a little interest. Here are angled and front pics of each color:
And one final pic of the four cards together. I'm loving how these turned out and can't wait to use them, lol! Or I may just gift them... ;)
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps and other goodies at the Mixed Up Merchandise store! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!
