Here is how this was created....
Begin by coating your canvas with heavy white gesso and allow this to dry or dry with a heat tool.
Next, add some lace, burlap scrap, and plastic beads or yarn. Wrap the beads as shown and fasten to the backside of the canvas either with hot glue or a stapler as I did here. Add texture paste through a scrollwork stencil and dry.
Add chippie gears, flowers, straws, and other embellishments and a chipboard frame by layering with bits of cardboard under pieces. Use a 3D matte gel for this step. Doing so gives you the freedom to move your pieces if needed. Use a metal butterfly embellishment for wings. Do not add printable yet. Allow this to dry once everything is in place as you like.
Next, add heavy white gesso and some mini art stones and larger art stones. Once gesso is dry begin spraying colors light to dark and move around the canvas. I chose a soft blue color palette using sprays and mediums from Art Anthology. Dry color with a heat tool before applying next.
Continue adding colors of blue and aqua until you are satisfied with the result. For my project, I used both sprays and paints (watered down). Allow to dry or dry with a heat tool carefully.
Once the color is dry, Use a brush or small sponge wedge and dab embossing ink in some random areas to highlight. Sprinkle the areas with clear or iridescent embossing powder and heat activate with a heat tool. As you can see in this picture this adds a bit more texture and interest.
Finally, add other contrasting elements such as white flowers, buttons, pearls, and glass stones here and there for more interest. Add your sentiment and the cut out printable!
