Great Adventures by Mags Woodcock

Mags is here today with a beautiful shabby chic plaque featuring products from our November sponsor Samantha K Gifts and Crafts.

Hello, today I would love to share a project created using the fabulous MDF shapes from Samantha K Gifts. The moment I set eyes upon the clock I fell in love. As some of you may know I adore vintage, shabby chic projects and this one is no exception.

The large plaque was a great shape and size and allowed me to include lots of vintage ephemera along with some Tim Holtz Paper Dolls.

To begin the project I attached several layers of torn and distressed scrapbook papers using gel medium. To add a shabby look I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink along the edges

The next step was to add some stenciling using a 13 Arts stencil designed by Marta Lapkowska and a Ranger Archival Sepia ink pad.

Decoart Crackle Paste added more texture along the edges and around the corners, once dry a wash of Distress Oxide Vintage Photo highlighted the crackle .

The gorgeous MDF clock received a coat of gesso followed by black ink and then a coat of crackle paste. Again the crackle had a wash of Vintage Photo once dry.

Yet more texture was added at the base of the plaque using muslin coloured with watered down Vintage Photo ink.

The much loved ephemera added a travel theme to the whole project along with the clock.

Paper dolls and a title finished the project.
